Eight high achieving students were recognized as finalists for the "Mr. and Ms. Frankie" awards on April 30, 2019 by University President Very Rev. Malachi Van Tassell, T.O.R., Ph.D. at the Annual President's Awards Convocation at Saint Francis University. The "Mr. and Ms. Frankie" awards honor the top senior male and female students at the University each academic year. Finalists exemplify scholarship, leadership, achievement and service to the University, as well as to the Community.

Cade Young, a freshman General Engineering major with an Aviation concentration,completed his first solo flight in a Diamond DA40 NG, flying out of the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport on December 9th.

English and Philosophy double major, Shayna Boisvert, will be presenting at the National Popular Cultural Association Convention (NPAC) held in Washington, DC, this spring.

Since well-before her high school graduation, Teresa Reid knew studying engineering was her calling. Now a sophomore PNGE and applied mathematics double major at Saint Francis University, Reid has already received awards, research grants and an internship in her field.

The Department of Physician Assistant Science at Saint Francis University is pleased to announce that all 47 of its 2018 graduates, who earned their Master of Physician Assistant Science (MPAS) Degree, have passed the Physician Assistant National Certification Examination(PANCE) on their first try. This examination is offered through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Three Saint Francis University students have been awarded $1,000 Intrepid research grants from the School of Arts & Letters for their significant academic, creative, or service projects.To be eligible to receive an Intrepid grant, a student must be a junior or senior and have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.25. The student is also required to write a proposal that outlines the purpose, goals and costs of the project.

Saint Francis is pleased to announce students receiving Academic Honors in Continuing Studies. To be eligible for recognition students had to complete a minimum of 15 credits between Sept. 1, 2013 and Aug. 31, 2014 with a quality point average of at least 3,500. Part-time(fewer than 12 credits per semester)undergraduate student status must be maintained throughout the one-year period. The Saint Francis University Science Outreach Center hosted high school students between their junior-senior years on the Loretto campus for the Science & the Art of Discovery Summer Academy from June 20-24, 2011. The Saint Francis University Science Outreach Center in Loretto, PA, hosted an Environmental Engineering Design Summer Academy on June 27 - July 1. The Summer Academy is a week-long residential experience designed to provide an opportunity for talented high school students to experience the engineering design process. Saint Francis University held its annual President's Awards Convocation on April 26, on the Loretto campus. The ceremony recognized students and faculty members for their outstanding achievements in academics and campus involvement.

Ten Saint Francis University (Loretto, PA) seniors have been nominated to receive the prestigious Mr. and Miss Frankie awards. Five male seniors and five female seniors were chosen by the senior class, faculty and administration based on their academic achievements, commitment to Franciscan Values and leadership in campus related activities. Saint Francis University's School of Sciences held its Awards Ceremony Saturday, April 16. 75 people were in attendance including faculty, staff, students, and parents. Dr. Charles MacVean, dean of the School of Sciences welcomed everyone to the ceremony and congratulated the students on their achievements.

Dr. Marnie Moist, associate professor of psychology at Saint Francis University, accompanied eight psychology and occupational therapy majors to the 14th annual Laurel Highlands Undergraduate Psychology Conference. The conference was held on April 16, at the University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown.

Saint Francis University's School of Business held its second annual Zanzuccki Undergraduate Research Poster Presentation. The presentation was held on April 13, in the DiSepio Institute for Rural Health & Wellness on the Loretto campus. 12 posters were on display during the presentation, featuring a myriad of business research topics.
