SFU Named 2021-22 Military Friendly School
Loretto, PA (07/08/2021) — Saint Francis University has been named a "Military Friendly School" by VIQTORY for the 11th consecutive year. This year, the university earned the organization's Gold Award, which suggests that its programs scored within 10 percent of the 10th ranked institution within a given category. This designation reflects the high standards upheld by the university in serving military families.
The university's service-focused mission couples well with their duties as active duty or reservist men and women. SFU also welcomes veterans who have honorably served and seek to successfully transition into the classroom where they can share their experiences with fellow students.
SFU maintains a strong ROTC program and an active on-campus Student Veteran Organization. The university also serves dependent children and spouses of eligible military personnel.
How is a school designated "Military Friendly"?
The list of Military Friendly Schools and Military Friendly Schools ratings is assessed by evaluating both public data about the institution and proprietary data gathered through our free Military Friendly Schools survey. The annual, data-driven Military Friendly Schools survey assessment is offered at no cost to more than 8,800 institutions nationwide. Each year, schools taking the survey are held to a higher standard than in previous years via improved methodology, criteria and weightings developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and our Advisory Council.
Survey responses are weighted according to the categories below. Final survey results and ratings are determined by combining an institution's survey scores with the assessment of the institution's ability to meet minimum thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans. The benchmark is set by the score of the leading institution.
