SFU Greek Life Ties All-Time High Grade Point Average

The University's Greek Life achieves above national averages

Loretto, PA (06/04/2019) — Saint Francis University achieves above national averages once again as the Greek Life community matches their all-time high average grade point average. The final grade report for the spring 2019 academic term shows that the Greek Life community has demonstrated an average of a 3.47 GPA, which ties their all-time high from the spring 2018 semester.

For the spring 2019 term, the Greek Life community's 3.47 GPA is also higher than the non-Greek student average GPA of 3.38 and the all campus average of 3.41. The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership Development believes that this proves that the men and women within our Greek Life community are focused on the three pillars of the Greek Life program: Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. This also demonstrates the students' commitment to the missions and visions of their individual chapters.

This semester the sorority with the highest chapter average GPA was Phi Lambda Psi, which recorded a 3.59. Leading the chapter to achieve this accomplishment during the spring 2019 semester was President Cassie Caparo of Elmhurst, PA and Academic Chair Amanda Ferguson of Allison Park, PA.

Alpha Phi Delta recorded the highest chapter average amongst the fraternity community with a 3.55. Aidan Sweeney of Duncansville, PA was President throughout the 2018/2019 academic year, and Tanner Maneval of Northumerland, PA and Tanner Yawitz of New Stanton, PA were Academic Co-Chairmen during the spring 2019 semester. This is Alpha Phi Delta's third consecutive semester with the highest average GPA amongst the fraternities.
