SFU announces commencement plans for 2022

Loretto, PA (05/04/2022) — Saint Francis University is pleased to announce the plan for its in-person 171st Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8, 2022.

The in-person commencement exercises will be divided into three ceremonies by University School, all held at the Maurice Stokes Athletics Center's DeGol Arena over the two days. Details may be found at francis.edu/commencement.

The ceremony will recognize 673 students who have earned degrees this academic year.

The 2022 ceremonies will feature Commencement addresses by distinguished friends of the University, Mr. William E. Strickland and John H. Garvey, J.D., and the conferral of honorary degrees. Mr. William Strickland, creator of the Manchester Craftsman's Guild and retired president of the Manchester Bidwell Corporation, will speak at the School of Health Science & Education, Francis School of Continuing Studies-Health Studies, and School of Health Sciences & Education Undergraduate ceremonies on May 7th; and John H. Garvey, J.D, President of The Catholic University of American and former Dean of Boston College Law School and President of the Association of American Law Schools, will speak at the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, Shields School of Business, and Francis Worldwide School of Continuing Studies ceremony on May 8th.
