Saint Francis University to Host First Ever Red Flash High School Esports Showcase

Loretto, PA (07/08/2021) — Loretto, PA - The Saint Francis Esports program in partnership with Stay Plugged In (SPIN) from Charlotte, NC will be hosting the very first Red Flash Showcase for prospective high school players to be scouted and recruited by collegiate esports programs. The 2021 Red Flash Showcase will be on Saturday, July 31st, and Sunday, August 1st on the Saint Francis University within the JFK Student Center. Registration is $49.99 per student, and there are discounts available for full team registrations.

The Red Flash Showcase will feature four (4) different game titles throughout the weekend, which are Overwatch, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Valorant. Throughout the first day, players will be placed on teams, and compete in Group Play in a round-robin format. On the second day of the event, the teams will be placed into bracket play based on the results from the round-robin play.

In addition to competing in competitions, students will receive player headshots, virtual player cards, live-action shots (optional/additional expense), access to meet directly with college coaches, and program representatives, and attend information, and educational sessions about collegiate esports, and the esports ecosystem. Additionally, students will be able to receive an evaluation, and benchmark by Kovaak's Aim Training.

Saint Francis University Esports was the first varsity esports program affiliated with the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), and also compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).
