Saint Francis University Friar Completes 275 Mile European Pilgrimage

Loretto, PA (10/27/2021) — Franciscan Friar, Brother Shamus McGrenra, TOR, and fellow hikers Bob Goss, '76 and Jim Ward returned from their 275-mile hike along the Portuguese Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James) from September 8th to October 8th.

The highlight of the one-month journey was the trek through Portugal and Spain, which included a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal.

In appreciation of all the donors who have supported the daily operations of the Dorothy Day Outreach Center, they were able to present prayerful intentions to the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. Additionally, they prayed for the continued support of the Gospel message of reaching out to those less fortunate.
