Saint Francis University Alumni Board Pledge 5K to Students in Need

Loretto, PA (04/15/2020) — As Saint Francis University continues to navigate the unprecedented challenge of the coronavirus (COVID-19), many alumni community members have asked what they can do to support students adversely impacted by process changes and campus closures.

The Saint Francis University Alumni Association Board of Directors recently authorized a gift of $5,000 from the Association to the Student Emergency Support Fund, a gift they hope will encourage other alumni to do the same.

President of the Board, Sharon Hoffman '80, shared, "Becoming that someone requires the assistance of a great many people, and since we are in this together, the Alumni Association is more than happy to make this donation to the Student Emergency Support Fund. We hope others join us in supporting the next generation of alumni."

About the Fund

While the physical campus is temporarily closed, our students, faculty, and staff are all working in the digital world. Now that our students are off-campus adjusting to online learning, some are experiencing difficulties accessing technology without campus resources and loss of income since work-study jobs are no longer available.

To help support our students impacted by the pandemic, Saint Francis University has established a Student Emergency Support Fund.

During these extraordinary times, please consider a gift to the Student Emergency Support Fund so we can continue to support our students in need. Your generosity will help those students with the greatest need immediately and is greatly appreciated.
