Saint Francis University Accepting Applications for High School Summer Academies

Loretto, PA (03/07/2023) —

[Loretto, PA] - Saint Francis University is currently accepting applications from high school students interested in attending the 2023 Summer Academies either June 25-30 or July 9-14. SFU Summer Academies are one-week, residential, immersive programs for high school students who are currently in grades 10 and 11 (and are at least 15 years old) and are interested in pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics.

This year, SFU offers programs in chemistry, theatre, engineering design, environmental science and watershed restoration, pre-med, cybersecurity, and computer science. Each program provides students with an exciting and engaging summer experience emphasizing science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).

The academies will be led by experienced educators who have a passion for STEAM subjects and who will encourage students to explore and discover their interests in these fields.

Through various hands-on projects and group activities, students will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills and gain exposure to a range of STEAM subjects. Participants will work collaboratively with their peers and be encouraged to think creatively and innovatively as they tackle new challenges.

The Summer Academies are open to students of all backgrounds and abilities, with a discounted rate available due to generous funding. Pricing for each academy includes all instruction materials, plus room and board on campus. In addition, participants will be eligible for a $1,000/year scholarship (up to four years) to SFU if enrolling as a full-time SFU student within 28 months of high school graduation and receive one college credit.
